ntsg is pleased to announce the release of VisNetic MailServer 8.5.

VisNetic Mail Server 8.5 features the added flexibility of Group Accounts, Native IDN support, and improved Certificate Handling. GroupWare now supports vCards, vCalendar and vFreeBusy. Additional changes include the ability to set separate IP addresses and hostnames for domain binding, and improved SMTP functionality and scalability.

Features include:

Secured Destinations – This unique feature allows you to specify hostnames for which you demand SSL and helps prevent DNS spoofing. VisNetic MailServer is the first mail server to offer this security feature – separate secured connection for any hostname hosted locally. Every incoming server session (POP3, IMAP and SMTP) and it’s hostname will be validated and verified against administer defined conditions.

Storage Folders – Domain storage folders allow you to store email in different locations on a domain level. This feature can significantly enhance the performance, speed and stability of the system.

Content Indexing – Content Indexing is introduced allowing another way of detecting and blocking possible spam. Messages can be scored based on; Missing text/plain part, Mismatched text/html and text/plain parts, HTML message with no text, HTML message containing script code, Messages containing no subject or body, and Forbidden Character sets.

Group Accounts - Group Accounts provides a powerful collaboration process. A Group Account contains a list of Member Accounts, which could be User, Mailing List, or even other Group Accounts.

Native IDN Support - The mail server intelligently recognizes international characters and converts them in compliance with the IDN standard.

IMAP IDLE Command – This extension of the IMAP protocol allows the server to send new message updates to the client in real time. Instead of forcing desktop email or web mail clients to check for new mail arrivals, IMAP IDLE allows the server to notify your email client when a new message has arrived.

GroupWare vCards, vCalendar, vFreeBusy - The new version of VisNetic MailServer GroupWare component now supports the vCard and vCalendar (including vFreeBusy component) file format standards.

Improved Mail Archive – You are now in control of a comprehensive center for complete mail archiving with many options, including Backup possibilities and Advanced Scheduling. Archive Received and Sent messages or just Received messages, Archive all Domains or selected Domains only, Archive Backup with scheduling options.

Accounts Maintenance Log – This addition simplifies the life of Server and Domain Administrators, meeting the security and archiving requirements of any company. Once enabled all Account and Domain Maintenance operations performed within the mail server are logged.
